I'm a front end web developer from New York and I love what I do. Writing clean and efficient code is important to me. That is why I'm always honing my craft. Staying busy and challenged is how I remain in a constant state of learning.

I have experience working on ecommerce platforms, large-scale commercial projects, and small one-off websites. My expertise is HTML, CSS, and Javascript, but I have plenty of experience working in Smarty (PHP templating). I'm also extremely comfortable working in UNIX-based environments such as Linux and Mac OSX. These CLI environments helped me learn some basics of versioning software (Git and Mercurial) and server operations.

My two bachelor's degrees are in Graphic Design and Advanced Specialized Web. This allows me to make strong user experience decisions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Although I'm strictly a developer, I will always retain the visual sensitivities of a graphic designer.

At the start of my career I earned my stripes building ecommerce websites for San Diego-based Web Design Solutions. There we used a proprietary platform built on Smarty. I took what I had learned in school and transformed it into a professional, real-world skill. By working at Web Design Solutions I learned to slice PSDs extremely well.

I returned to New York and took a three-month contract position with R/GA that was later extended to five months. There I worked with a larger team on a major corporate project.

Born and raised in New York, I studied at SUNY Binghamton and soon after began working in Manhattan while living in Queens. Later on, I relocated to San Diego, California and pursued further education at Platt College.

I play the bass guitar, drive stick, watch Jeopardy!™ and I read reddit.com.

I am writing to recommend Daniel Diaz. I had the pleasure of working directly with Dan during his time as a Front End Developer at Web Shop Manager (WSM).

I was Dan's direct supervisor at WSM, and during that time, we worked closely together, so I fully understand his capabilities.

Dan possesses great skill in the latest HTML5 and CSS3 technologies. He also has had the opportunity to develop his JavaScript and PHP knowledge during his tenure. He has a passion for learning new technologies and is excellent at defining and documenting processes. Dan is extremely dependable and was a pillar in the production department. A couple of Dan's standout characteristics, is to always prioritize user experience first, and to take pride coding every detail in the project specifications. Dan was highly valued as the "go to guy" for the most challenging issues as he was our best troubleshooter and was dedicated to solving those issues to help the team. Furthermore, he communicates and works effectively in a collaborative environment and thus was a great fit in the company culture.

Loyalty, technical knowledge, and passion for learning are a few of his strong points that would be valued by any employer. With his abilities, adaptability, and dedication, Dan will make a great addition to any company.
